I posted Monday, that the Noles ranked No. 10 on the 2024 Preseason Coaches Poll. They are the highest-ranked of the four ACC teams: Clemson (No. 14), Miami (No. 19), and NC State (No. 22). I'm not sure Miami deserves to be in the top 25 preseason based on their 7-6 (losing four of their last five). Clemson finished strong with nine wins overall, including their last five consecutive. NC State has been steady under Dave Doeren, winning nine games and five of their last six. Actually, NC State deserves a higher ranking than Miami after beating them 20-6 last season. However, we're here to talk about where FSU ranks in this poll.

I support doing away with preseason polls because they have so much bias it's not funny. I point this out every year and it unfolds throughout the season. The media props up a lot of teams in preseason polls, especially those in the SEC and B1G. FSU went 13-1*, and I put an asterisk beside the loss because everyone knows that the Orange Bowl game was a joke after getting snubbed from the College Football Playoff. How can a team that didn't really lose a game and return experience and production at nearly every position be behind teams who lost three games last year? Here are three teams FSU deserved to be ranked above in the Coaches Poll.
