The FSU offense will have several new faces after the departure of several key players. Mike Norvell has transformed the offense over the past few years compared to the first two. It's more explosive, efficient, and adaptable to the strengths and weaknesses of each opponent. One thing the offense has lacked since Norvell arrived is overall speed. Trey Benson and Jashun Corbin were exceptions, capable of breaking off long touchdown runs. Ja'Khi Douglas has shown flashes and others here and there. Mike Norvell and the coaching staff knew they needed to acquire more speed, and it was a major focus over the past couple of years. The 2024 offense might have the most overall speed of any FSU team in recent memory. The key will be getting the players acclimated in the offense to take advantage of that speed. Here's a list of guys with big-time speed:

  • Jaylin Lucas: 11.19 PB in 100 meters in HS(though short area quickness is ELITE)
  • Ja'Khi Douglas: 11.07 PB in 100 meters in high school
  • Hykeem Williams: Hit 20 mph on his touchdown run and catch against Syracuse in 2023(has hit 22.24 mph)
  • Sam Singleton: 10.86 in 100 meters in high school
  • Caziah Holmes: 10.72 PB in 100 meters in high school
  • Deuce Spann: 4.3s in the 40-yard dash, according to Illinois staff, before transferring to FSU
  • Destyn Hill: 4.32 in the 40-yard dash at the All-American Bowl National Combine
  • Camdon Frier: 4.4s in the 40-yard dash
  • Brian Courtney(TE): 4.56 in the 40-yard dash in high school
  • Kyle Morlock (TE): 4.68 in the 40-yard dash
  • Jalen Brown: 10.65 PB in 100 meters in high school
  • Micahi Danzy: 10.57 PB in 100 meters in high school
  • Malik Benson: 10.44 PB in 100 meters in high school

This list doesn't include players like Lawrance Toafili, Roydell Williams, Lawayne McCoy, BJ Gibson, and Elijah Moore. That's a lot of options to choose from when it comes to difference-making speed on offense.
