FSU commit Tramell Jones Jr. awarded QB MVP at Under Armour Camp Series
The Under Armour Next Camp Series occurred in Orlando, Florida on Sunday afternoon. One notable performer who stood out was Class of 2025 four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr. from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He was named quarterback MVP for the camp series.
Jones Jr. has been committed to the Seminoles since April 1, 2023. As we alluded to in a previous article, the talented signal caller has consistently showcased his improvement as a prospect.
On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons expressed his thoughts on social media about the Mandarin High School standout.
Jones Jr. is considered the 26th-best quarterback prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. This is an evaluation process that head football coach Mike Norvell and company should take pride in. During his junior season in 2023, the quarterback completed 183 of his 302 passes for 3,195 yards and 33 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions.
The coaching staff is looking to add playmakers around the talented prospect. There is already a good start with adding five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida, who primarily played at the offensive guard position during the camp series in Orlando, Florida.
Jones Jr. has consistently put his recruiting hat on for the Seminoles as he is attempting to acquire the services of his high school teammate, five-star wide receiver target Jaime Ffrench Jr. According to a report from On3's Chad Simmons, Florida State and Ohio State are both attempting to gain the top spot for Ffrench Jr.
We have already seen Ohio State get the better of the Seminoles after acquiring 2024 five-star target Jeremiah Smith in December's Signing Period. However, you would think that Florida State holds an advantage given the familiarity of having his high school teammate committed to the program and they are on the same 7v7 team.
Overall, it is great to have Jones Jr. committed to the program. He has consistently gotten better over time with his skill set.
