Must Continue To Trim The Roster Fat

When I looked at the 2024 roster, saw several marquee position players and pitchers. I equate it to the 2022 or 2023 football rosters. The starters were outstanding, but once you peel back the onion a bit, there wasn't quite enough depth on offense or defense. Offensively, a few reserve guys had roles, but there were too many guys on the roster who never contributed. The same goes for the pitching staff. It's why you rarely saw guys come out of the lineup when they were struggling down the stretch. It's why you only saw a handful of pitchers in the postseason.

That's the major difference between an FSU that's just getting back and a Tennessee team that's had things rolling with a head coach for several years. They have stockpiled talent over several years, and why they could run pitcher after pitcher at FSU in game one of the CWS. They had confidence in those guys, and that's not what you saw from FSU. Injuries impacted some of that, but it's an area they are already addressing via the transfer portal and incoming freshman class. If we give Link Jarrett time, FSU will consistently be in the mix to win championships.
