FSU baseball remains undefeated and moves to (15-0) with a 12-8 road win over the rival Florida Gators. The win snaps a four-game losing streak to the Gators and helps silence the critics saying FSU hadn't played any good teams this season. FSU got on the board first scoring three runs in the top of the second on one hit, three walks, and an error. FSU tacked another run in the top of the third on a Daniel Cantu RBI single, but it was the top of the fourth where FSU blew the game open. A leadoff walk and Cam Smith's swinging bunt brought James Tibbs to the plate with one out, and he crushed a hanging split-finger fastball over the left centerfield wall for a 7-0 lead. The Gators would not go quietly, scoring five runs in the bottom frame, including a grand slam to make it 7-5. It looked like Florida took the momentum, but Carson Dorsey was solid out of the bullpen after allowing the grand slam when he came into the game to relieve starter Andrew Armstrong with the bases loaded.

FSU answered with three runs in the top of the six, and Dorsey pitched a scoreless fifth and sixth innings. The Noles tacked on two more insurance runs in the top of the eighth inning, and needed them, with Florida making it interesting with a run in the bottom of the eighth and two in the bottom of the ninth. FSU pounded 13 hits and nine walks, with Drew Faurot and Daniel Cantu leading the way with three hits each. Cam Smith had two hits. Alex Lodise had a huge double with three RBI. Dorsey picked up the win, but it was a team effort on the mound. FSU pitchers had 15 strikeouts and only three walks but hit four batters. Hudson Rowan struck out the side in the inning he pitched, and Andrew Armstrong was strong in the three innings to start the game. Overall, it was a nice overall game for the Noles. They responded well after Florida got back into the game, and some guys made some nice plays. They will open ACC play this weekend against Notre Dame on Friday.
