FSU baseball: Noles will host UConn in Super Regionals, Game date and times
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU baseball has the benefit of resting the last few days while waiting to find out who their opponent would be in the Tallahassee Super Regional. The UConn Huskies battled the No. 9 overall seed Oklahoma Sooners Monday night in a winner advance to the Super Regionals and defeated the Sooners 7-1. It was the second time the Huskies beat the Sooners in the regional, as Oklahoma forced a final game with a win Sunday night. I broke down how each of those teams matched up with the Noles before their game. UConn is similar to UCF, a team FSU defeated twice in the Tallahassee Regional. They have solid pitching and defense but are not explosive offensively. They are a team that usually doesn't beat themselves, but FSU will be betting favorites to beat them and make the College World Series for the first time since 2019 in Mike Martin Sr.'s final season. The game times for Super Regionals are below:
The games will air on ESPN or ESPN2, allowing more fans to have access since the ESPN+ package is a service you have to pay additional money to access. FSU will play these games earlier in the day in hopes to avoid potential weather delays that are common in Florida during the summer. We saw the benefit of playing early games in the regional. FSU baseball should be well rested, only playing three games in the regional, whereas UConn had to play four games. The Noles will have nearly two extra days of rest and didn't have to tap into their bullpen much in the three games played. FSU playing at home and in the heat of the Florida sun should be an advantage compared to UConn's weather in the northeast. Ticket information can be found here.
