FSU baseball saw James Tibbs and Cam Smith selected in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft. The Nole parade continued on day two with several FSU baseball players hearing their names called. Below is a list of players and the teams who selected them:

Thoughts
I expect Marco Dinges and Jaime Ferrer to sign. I had hopes Dinges would return for another season, but it'll be hard to pass up over $500,000 in signing bonus money after the health scare he had before getting to FSU. I wasn't sure he'd go quite this high, but his potential as a hitter is impressive. However, Dinges is someone the staff can show to JUCO recruits with big potential about what can happen with one excellent year at FSU. I expected Jaime Ferrer to get drafted around this area and already expected him to exit the program. He'll also sign for over $500,000 if he decides to go that route. Carson Dorsey's situation is a bit different. His signing bonus would be around $250,000, but he has the potential to improve his stock immensely if he decides not to sign. I could see him improving his stock into a top three-round pick if he had another season the way he finished the 2024 post-season. We're talking about a difference of over one million dollars potentially. If he develops to find the strike zone more consistently while continuing to develop his change-up? He'd be a big-time prospect. Gavin Adam missed the 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He decided to come to FSU instead of signing last year after getting drafted in the 11th round in 2023. Could he improve his stock considerably with a strong 2025? Absolutely, but can he risk it with his injury history?
It'll be interesting to see what Dorsey and Adams decide. If they came back, it would help bolster a slew of arms on an FSU staff that would be among the deepest in the nation. If they left, they'd be done a proven starter in Dorsey and a potential power arm in Adams.
