FSU baseball (37-12, 15-11 ACC) had a disappointing road series against the Pittsburgh Panthers, losing two of three as huge favorites. The Noles will look to rebound Tuesday evening as they travel to play the Stetson Hatters (33-19, 17-10 ASUN) for the second time. FSU defeated Stetson 1-0 in their previous meeting in late March. This game will be the final midweek one before hosting the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to finish the regular season. As noted, Stetson played the Noles tough in the last matchup, with FSU not scoring the winning run until the bottom of the eighth inning. The FSU offense only managed four hits, but FSU's pitching staff limited Stetson to only two hits.

It was the Johnny Wholestaff approach and will likely be the same Tuesday evening. FSU pitchers had 12 strikeouts against only two walks in the last matchup. The Hatters are 22-9 at home and won two of three in their last ASUN series against Queens University of Charlotte. They hit .293 as a team, with 47 home runs and a .404 on-base percentage. They get active on the bases with 88 steals in 109 attempts. They strike out quite a bit, and their pitchers bring a 5.15 ERA into the matchup. They have 428 strikeouts in 445.1 innings, with 207 walks. Opposing batters hit .261 against Stetson pitching, with 66 home runs. Defensively, Stetson has a respectable .973 fielding percentage.

This one is a game FSU can't take lightly, as they just lost two of three from a bad Pittsburgh team on the road. Stetson played them tough last time and will not lay down for them at home. Hopefully, the offense shows up in this one, and the FSU pitching is as reliable as last time. The game will air on ESPN+.
