FSU baseball: 5 major takeaways from 2024 season

The Last Unbeaten Team
FSU was the final unbeaten team in the 2024 season. It feels like it was yesterday as I wrote my three biggest questions going into the 2024 season. Most fans expected the Noles to improve and make the postseason, but I don't think anyone expected 19 consecutive wins right out of the gate! To be fair, the competition wasn't the best, but it's still difficult to win that many games in a row, and FSU was dominating most of those teams. The Noles winning the first game 11-0 should have been a sign the season would be special, and many folks pointed it out at the time since Mike Martin Sr. passed a short time before the season started.
I can remember FSU baseball fans and myself giving D1Baseball a hard time because they refused to rank FSU for quite some time while continuing to rank schools with terrible records. We were right, and they were wrong, and they finally came around on the Noles. The 19-0 start brought great attention to the team from fans who had probably tuned out after last season's debacle. The fan interest was felt during the games, and it felt like old times again, especially with Dick Howser's stands filled again.
