FSU baseball

FSU baseball had an abysmal year in year one of the Link Jarrett era. The team Jarrett inherited had many holes on the roster, and he didn't arrive in Tallahassee until much later because of his CWS appearance with Notre Dame. That delay hampered his ability to attract much-needed talent from the transfer portal to help fill roster holes. There were huge question marks on the mound, and FSU had a ton of young players in the lineup from an offensive standpoint.

Injuries on the mound and in the field didn't help, and pitching ace Wyatt Crowell was lost for the season after a couple of weeks. Freshman DeAmez Ross missed a good portion of the season after starting the season red-hot. FSU played the toughest schedule in the nation in 2023. It was a mixture of things that led to the program missing the postseason for the first time in over 40 seasons. It's ironic how many similarities there are between Link Jarrett's arrival and Mike Norvell's arrival with the FSU football team. I think the 2024 FSU baseball team will be improved, but here are three major questions before the season gets underway this weekend.
