Final Thoughts

FSU baseball has beaten teams like UConn all season long. It's why Link Jarrett scheduled such a tough slate of midweek games throughout the season. The only difference is that FSU hasn't faced many of the best pitchers from those midweek teams, as UConn will use their best pitchers. However, those teams never saw Jamie Arnold or Carson Dorsey(after Conner Whittaker got hurt). FSU has the better overall talent. They have home-field advantage and the benefit of rest since defeating UCF on Sunday and UConn having to play Oklahoma into the wee hours of Monday night.

UConn is barely over .500 on the road, and FSU only lost four games at home all season. There's a reason FSU is a big betting favorite. However, it's the game of baseball, and it comes down to the talent executing consistently. UConn proved they could win on the road against a more talented team. It wasn't a fluke, and FSU will need to play well to advance to the College World Series. I think they will. This team responded all season and rarely had moments where they beat themselves, especially at home. Make sure you tune into the game on ESPN at noon on Friday if you can't attend in person. It will be an electric atmosphere.
