Florida State football had an impressive 2023 campaign where it accomplished marvelous feats in the fourth season under head football coach Mike Norvell. The squad was filled with contributors who heard their names called during the 2024 NFL Draft.

We have a ton of draft coverage on the site from the last couple of weeks so we won't re-hash everything from the event. However, if you missed something, click here to catch up.

Florida State showcased its product during the 2024 NFL Draft. If you want to be developed and realize your lifelong dreams, come to Tallahassee. Norvell has made the Seminoles' football program a transfer portal destination for many individuals.

Most notably, the Seminoles acquired Western Michigan defensive tackle transfer Braden Fiske last offseason. Fans were wondering how Fiske would fit into the defense considering that veteran defensive tackle Fabien Lovett Sr. announced that he would be returning to Tallahassee for his senior season.

However, Lovett Sr. was injured in the season opener versus the LSU Tigers. That allowed the coaching staff to rotate its players in more to keep everyone healthier for the ultimate goal of reaching the College Football Playoff (thanks committee...).

This decision got Fiske more valuable reps. Individuals did not know what to expect since he transferred in from Western Michigan. During his four seasons with them, he had 148 total tackles (27 for loss) and 13.5 sacks.

Fiske was a great asset to the defensive line to pair with ultra-talented defensive end pieces such as Jared Verse and Patrick Payton. It seemed like he saved his best performance for last as he recorded nine total tackles (4.5 for loss) and three sacks in the ACC Championship Game versus Louisville.

This statistical performance plus the fact that he knocked his NFL Scouting Combine testing out of the water made the Los Angeles Rams select him with the 39th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. This allowed him to be reunited with his former teammate, defensive end Jared Verse.

Tom Pelissero from NFL Network reported the terms of Fiske's contract with the Rams.

This is an amazing recruiting tool for this coaching staff going forward. This isn't to say that the city of Tallahassee has the same "flashiness" as cities such as Miami or Los Angeles. However, Norvell and company can sell the development that they get out of their players and the fact that they can make life-changing for themselves and their loved ones.

I cannot wait to see these former Seminole players in their first NFL action.
