FSU football is generating a ton of positive momentum this offseason regarding recruiting and the transfer portal. However, the ACC will release its schedule for each team in the conference on Wednesday, January 24th.

For reference, the Florida State Seminoles will be taking on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Ireland on Saturday, August 24th in Week 0. On Monday, it dropped the Week 1 contests.

As expected, the Seminoles did not get a normal schedule filled with Saturday matchups. Instead, it was announced that Florida State will be taking on the Boston College Eagles on Monday, September 2nd in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.

Coming back all of the way from Ireland, it can take a second for the team to get its feet back underneath them. They will now have nine days of rest to prepare for a tough Boston College football team that they defeated by a score of 31-29, who still have Thomas Castellanos as their signal caller.

As it stands right now, Florida State will play the Memphis Tigers on Saturday, September 14th at home. We will see if the conference decides to give the Seminoles a bye week in between Boston College and Memphis.

I like the idea of playing the Eagles on Labor Day night in a standalone contest where the entire college football landscape has its eyes on the Seminoles and their product. Plus, some of the members on the defensive side of the football will be waiting for the opportunity to prove that they can be able to effectively stop Castellanos.

Overall, it seems like Florida State has been known to have several Labor Day weekend showdowns in the past (most notably Notre Dame, LSU, and Virginia Tech). Head football coach Mike Norvell will have his players ready for the opportunity at hand.
