ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit is ready for the Noles' crowd in Dublin, Ireland
It has already been announced that the Florida State Seminoles' 2024 season opener versus Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, August 24th at noon EST is sold out. The interesting tidbit about all of this is that College Gameday will be in attendance.
A portion of the fan base showcases dislike towards certain employees of ESPN such as Kirk Herbstreit. I don't believe that the Seminole faithful will ever forget what transpired on that dreaded day in December when Florida State was left out of the College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama squad.
Herbstreit decided to go on Twitter (X) on Saturday afternoon to discuss the crowd that will be at the game in Ireland.
There should be many Florida State football fans there to let the former Ohio State quarterback have it. Just like his co-workers Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy, Herbstreit has gone out of his way to negatively discuss the Seminoles on the field and will not let what happened in 2023, stay in 2023.
Honestly, Herbstreit has gone on Twitter (X) all offseason to try and defend that he has been a fan of the Seminoles his whole life even going back to the Bobby Bowden days. However, the Seminole faithful on Twitter (X) do not believe him one day and think that he uses that for a cop-out
As expected, with how ruthless FSU Twitter can be at times, Herbstreit went to blocking several individuals on social media to save face. While it is never okay to promote violence toward others, I have a feeling that the fan base will let him have it verbally as individuals are still okay with what happened with being left out of the College Football Playoff.
I surely hope that Kirk Herbstreit has a safe trip to Ireland because once he gets there, it will be uncomfortable with Florida State football fans who want to see the Seminoles be a dominant presence and prove the doubters wrong from a season ago.
