Florida State football has had a successful offseason where they acquired fifteen transfers via the portal. The Seminoles have made their presence known in the market over the past couple of seasons while head football coach Mike Norvell has been at the helm.

A common theme has been obtaining transfers that the Seminoles were heavily involved in their recruitment but they ultimately chose to go elsewhere. The transfer portal can be wild at times but it is also beneficial to keep those long-lasting relationships alive and end on good terms if they commit to another institution.

One player that I want to mention is redshirt sophomore defensive back Earl Little Jr., who transferred in from the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a consensus four-star prospect in the Class of 2022. Schools such as Miami (where his father went to school) and Florida State but he ultimately chose to go to Alabama.

During the time of his recruitment, the Seminoles ended up finishing the 2021 season with a 5-7 record, which included a historic defeat to FCS opponent Jacksonville State. Overall, it was obvious why Little Jr. would have elected to go to a more stable environment in Tuscaloosa.

As it stood, Little Jr. did not get much playing time with the Crimson Tide where he recorded two total tackles in two seasons. The former four-star prospect elected to enter the transfer portal on January 3rd and visited Tallahassee immediately after he transferred where he transferred in on January 6th.

Fans haven't heard much from the South Florida native. However, during Saturday's practice, he was rewarded with a "Mission Takeaway" after recording an interception.

As I alluded to in a previous article, I feel that Little Jr. is a complete player in the secondary where he could play cornerback and/or safety. As of right now, I envision him playing the nickel cornerback position alongside the outside cornerbacks of Azareye'h Thomas and Fentrell Cypress II.

I am excited to see him reunited with his former high school head football coach (defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr.).
