NFL SCOUTING NUMBERS FOR JOHNSON II AND BURNS

Brian Burns (Carolina Panthers) and Jermaine Johnson II were two successful pass rushers during their times in Tallahassee. Burns finished his three-year playing career at Florida State with 123 total tackles (38.5 for loss) and 23 sacks while Johnson II recorded 70 total tackles (17.5 for loss) and 11.5 sacks during his only season with the Seminoles.

Burns ends up being the 16th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Here are some of his NFL Scouting Combine numbers below:

40-yard dash: 4.53

20-yard split: 2.62

10-yard split: 1.54

Vertical jump: 36"

Johnson II fell more than he would have liked as he was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Attached are some of his NFL Scouting Combine numbers:

40-yard dash: 4.58

20-yard split: 2.68

10-yard split: 1.59

Vertical jump: 32"

Overall, the numbers suggest that Verse will ultimately be a first-round selection. However, how high will that take the defensive end in the draft? In my opinion, my feeling is that he will be selected between the 11th and 15th picks.

May the success of talented defensive ends at Florida State continue.
