Florida State finally got a recruit to pledge to their program. However, it was not a Class of 2025 prospect like many fans were wanting. The last time that the Seminoles were able to get a commitment, it was four-star defensive end Javion Hilson from Cocoa, Florida.

Head football coach Mike Norvell and the coaching staff were able to lure Hilson away in January from the Alabama Crimson Tide after the legendary Nick Saban shockingly elected to retire.

While the 2025 commitment did not happen on Tuesday, the Seminoles were able to acquire Class of 2026 four-star wide receiver Darryon Williams from Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida.

During the 2023 season, the talented pass-catcher recorded 34 receptions for 627 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is listed as an athlete by many recruiting databases. As a result, the Tampa native will likely have the opportunity to play on the offensive or defensive side of the football.

The Seminoles currently have three prospects committed to its 2026 recruiting class with four-star wide receiver Efrem White, four-star safety Darryl Bell, and now four-star wide receiver Darryon Williams.

This coaching staff is looking to build connections via the recruiting trail throughout the state of Florida. It will be vital as the program looks to continue to have sustainable success. The Seminoles have secured 23 combined victories over the past two seasons.

Unfortunately, it has been tough sledding when recruiting the likes of the Tampa area where most of the highly-touted prospects have elected to go to other schools besides Florida State. It is great to see that the coaching staff has not given up on the region that has so much talent.

The Seminoles are ready to have their Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase on Saturday, April 20th. As a result, there should be more recruiting momentum that comes with the contest.
