Florida State football fans have been disappointed in the outcome of how the 2024 season has transpired. The Seminoles accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship last year.

The losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, and SMU were absolutely brutal. It is even hard to fathom the fact that they were defeated by these opponents. However, Florida State are who they are, which is not a good football team.

To make matters worse, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that quarterback DJ Uiagalelei will out a couple of weeks due to a broken finger on his throwing hand. As a result, the potential depth chart from the Seminoles indicated that there was an -or- designation beside redshirt freshman Brock Glenn.

Glenn is a very talented signal-caller where he struggled mightily versus Louisville in the ACC Championship Game and Georgia in a meaningless Orange Bowl where the majority of the good pieces on the roster opted out.

The former four-star prospect was thrown into the start after back up signal-caller Tate Rodemaker (who is now at Southern Miss) came down with an injury in the rivalry showdown versus arch-rival Florida. It certainly wasn't fair to Glenn, but as head football coach Mike Norvell always says to his player is that they have to respond to adversity.

Even though Glenn was underwhelming versus Louisville where he completed 8 of his 21 passes for 55 yards in their 16-6 win. It wasn't the quarterback that was the reason for the victory, it was the ACC Championship Game MVP in running back Lawrance Toafili.

Toafili finished with ten carries for 118 rushing yards and one touchdown in the contest. The rusher had a WildCat formation that seemed to have a ton of success. In a 2024 season where Florida State has struggled to generate a running game, Toafili has accumulated 45 attempts for 214 yards and two touchdowns.

The redshirt senior deserves to be the focal point of the offense after being a bright spot in what has been a dark season. I imagine that it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to utilize the running back in the WildCat formation especially in short yardage (even if the offense gets in third down and short).

Clemson has one of the better defensive units in the country, it is important to not have third down and long situations where a redshirt freshman making his first start of the season will not be great if the coaching staff has to depend on that all game.
