Breakdown on two FSU LB prospects making their commitment today

Florida State is continuing to climb in the 247Sports Composite rankings as they currently have the 35th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. The job isn't finished as they have only secured nine commitments to its class.

The Seminoles are preparing for more targets to make Tallahassee their home. Today (Monday, July 1st) is the decision date for four-star linebacker targets Zaydrius Rainey-Sale and Gavin Nix. ZAYDRIUS RAINEY-SALE

Here we go again... Class of 2025 four-star linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale from Bethel High School in Spanaway, Washington is a prospect that will be announcing his commitment today at 5:00 PM EST. The Seminoles thought that they were going to secure his pledge the first time around. However, Rainey-Sale chose to commit to the home-state Washington Huskies. However, when head football coach Kalen DeBoer decided to coach in Tuscaloosa, this opened the door for the linebacker to reevaluate everything. This is a recruitment that could go either way, but the Seminoles have done everything that they could to give themselves a shot.

GAVIN NIX

Class of 2025 four-star linebacker Gavin Nix from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida will be announcing his commitment today at 7:00 PM EST. As I alluded to in a Q&A with him, Florida State is considered his "dream school". I know that the term gets over-utilized quite a bit in recruiting. However, it does help that he is familiar with what the Seminoles bring to the table. It looks like it is a Florida State and Miami battle as the Hurricanes hold the crystal ball prediction advantage. The Seminoles made their final push for Nix as they hosted him on an official visit for the massive June 21st weekend. I don't think it was quite enough to land his services.
