WR MALIK BENSON WILL BE THE NO. 1 OPTION

Florida State will have a difficult time replicating the success of what big-bodied playmakers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman brought to the table in 2023 as they have navigated to the NFL.

In today's landscape of college football, teams are constantly retooling their roster with departures to the NFL and the transfer portal. The Seminoles went out this offseason and acquired Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown via the transfer portal.

Benson has been the most consistent option in camp throughout the spring, summer, and fall. He is a senior from the Crimson Tide who only had 162 yards and one touchdown in 2023 but with more opportunities, I believe that he could be a receiver who gets 600+ yards.

The Seminoles will need him to step up as that option since players such as Hykeem Williams and Kentron Poitier have not elevated themselves yet (not to say that it cannot happen). However, Benson feels like the safest option and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans feels that the Alabama transfer has embraced the idea of being the number one option.
