LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

Florida State is having to replace the likes of ultra-talented defensive end Jared Verse, who recorded 89 total tackles (29.5 for loss) and 18 sacks during his two seasons with the Seminoles. However, the Seminoles went to the transfer portal (as they always do) to secure elite talent.

The Seminoles were able to lure in Georgia sophomore defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. Many fans remember his father (Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones Sr.) who played linebacker in the 90's for Florida State. When the recruitment process happened for Jones Jr., fans thought that the Seminoles had a great chance to land him.

However, the former five-star prospect chose to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs. It was understandable at the time given where Florida State was as a program. After a short two-year stint with the Bulldogs where Jones Jr. did not have the production that he used to, he decided to take his talents to Tallahassee.

I am super excited to see how Jones Jr. looks in person as Norvell consistently alluded to the fact that the defensive end is starting to progress and piece everything together.
