IS CB AZAREYE'H THOMAS THE REAL DEAL?

Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell has alluded to in his media session that the defense has performed well in spring practices. That is to be expected with the Seminoles having so many new offensive weapons coming into the program.

However, one standout defender who has continued to turn heads has been cornerback Azareye'h Thomas. The Niceville (FL) native has consistency been a problem when wide receivers have been on him. Thomas recently made the jersey number transition this offseason from No. 20 to No. 8.

If you remember former Florida State defensive backs Jalen Ramsey as well as Renardo Green repped the specific jersey number. Ramsey was a household name for the Seminoles where the former All-American was one of the many reasons why Florida State is considered "DBU".

As for Green, Florida State defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. will be tasked with replacing him, Jarrian Jones, and Akeem Dent after they all graduate. However, Thomas has the potential to be an All-ACC caliber defensive back that can make opposing quarterbacks weary of taking the chance downfield.
