Florida State is ranked as the seventeenth-best recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings with the recent commitment of four-star wide receiver Malik Clark.

The Seminoles conducted their practice on Friday morning and there are a couple of highly-touted prospects on campus with the dead period ending on July 24th. We are currently in a quiet period where recruits can make in-person contacts on campus.

Florida State is continuing to build its recruiting class that has thirteen commitments. One prospect to note that is on campus today is five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was seen walking in with former Florida State offensive lineman D'Mitri Emmanuel, who is now an off-field assistant on the Seminoles' coaching staff. It is great to have former offensive lineman being around Thomas as he gets a great look at what Florida State brings to the table and how they develop.

Thomas has been committed to the Seminoles since December and has visited Florida State numerous times. However, schools such as LSU, Florida, and Miami have not stopped recruiting for his services.

With that being said, the five-star prospect has continued to showcase the fact that he loves what the Seminoles have to offer, the family atmosphere, and his relationship with offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

With the Early Signing Period in December, Florida State must find a way to keep the Jacksonville, Florida native in its recruiting class. The Seminoles do have four-star interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph from Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia, but they likely need at least three offensive linemen in this class.

Current offensive linemen on the roster such as Darius Washington, Maurice Smith, Jeremiah Byers, Robert Scott Jr., Richie Leonard IV, Keiondre Jones, and others will be graduating after the 2024 season. Atkins needs to continue acquiring talent on the recruiting trail as well as the transfer portal.
