Florida State football is currently ranked in the top 50 of the 2025 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The program is trying to generate momentum for its highly-touted prospects who will be officially visiting the campus this summer. Head football coach Mike Norvell and company know this is a pivotal stretch for a Florida State football team that has generated so much success during the 2023 season with the undefeated regular season and conference championship.

It is still a bitter pill that the Seminoles did not generate much more attention on the recruiting trail with being left out of the College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide team.

However, the past is in the past and the program has to move on regardless of how difficult it can be. The Seminoles are looking to have its best recruiting yet in the Mike Norvell era. The biggest concern over the past couple of cycles is that the coaching staff has to find a way to efficiently close.

As I alluded to in a previous article, the Seminoles are trending in a great position for four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace from Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia. However, there are several highly-touted prospects that they have to focus their attention to.

One recruit that I want to highlight is Class of 2025 four-star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama who included Florida State in his top eight schools list on Monday afternoon.

While four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida remains their likely top prospect at the position for Florida State, it is a great idea to expand the target board at the position since recruiting is ever-changing.

I know that fans get concerned with recruiting the state of Alabama given how Florida State recruiting has been burned over the past couple of years. However, the fan base has to understand that the Seminoles need to continue pursuing elite recruits and developing great relationships with them regardless of the state that they reside in.
