4-star WR target Daylan McCutcheon trending well for the Noles?
Florida State has not secured a wide receiver prospect in their 2025 recruiting class. The Seminoles would like to replenish their position group with supreme talent. The coaching staff is having to find viable options this upcoming season after losing Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman to the NFL.
One target that Florida State fans should monitor is four-star Daylan McCutcheon from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. The talented playmaker is officially visiting the Seminoles during the recruiting weekend of June 21st.
It is great to see Florida State get the last laugh as he officially visits Ohio State (May 31), USC (June 7), and Texas (June 14) this summer as well. This would be a talented playmaker for the Seminoles. He recorded 92 receptions for 1,423 yards and 19 touchdowns. Being listed at 6'0" and 175 pounds, the coaching staff like McCutcheon be very versatile in the slot as well as on the outside.
McCutcheon interviewed with ttjh.sports on Instagram where he talked about his relationship with Florida State's coaching staff among the other schools that is involved with his recruitment.
This was an interesting quote where the Texas native discusses that Florida State's coaching staff talks to him the most. Regarding most recruits, they talk about how personable the Seminoles' coaches can be.

As it pertains to the Seminoles, it is well-documented that Florida State has a different approach when recruiting where they want the prospect to decide for themselves and their loved ones. They would much rather see the recruit visit elsewhere to ensure that committing to the Seminoles would be ideal.
Unfortunately, Florida State might have struck out on other highly-touted wide receiver prospects such as five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and Vernell Brown III as they look to be trending to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Most of the time, you see a top-fifteen wide receiver prospect living in Texas commit to the home-state Longhorns. For reference, McCutcheon still could pledge to the program, but it sounds like the Seminoles have the upper hand since the talented playmaker stated during his last visit that he uses Florida State as the benchmark when he takes trips to other schools.
This would be a phenomenal grab for the program as they look to continue acquiring talent in the room.
