As I alluded to multiple times, the Florida State Seminoles continue to expand their recruiting target board with talented options at the wide receiver position. Four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr. will be looking to a variety of elite playmakers.

Even though the Seminoles have not acquired a wide receiver prospect yet in their recruiting class, the construction of that room could be beginning to form very quickly.

On Saturday afternoon, Class of 2025 four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas included Florida State in his top eight schools list.

The Seminoles are going head-to-head with some top competition with Texas, Ohio State, USC, Florida, Tennessee, SMU, and Stanford. As I alluded to in the article about four-star wide receiver target Marcus Harris, it is great to see Florida State expand its position board for other targets.

As it relates to McCutcheon, while he is from the Texas area, he has showcased interest in Florida State. The talented wide receiver took an unofficial visit to Tallahassee when the Seminoles defeated the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes on November 11th.

McCutcheon is considered to be the 11th-best wide receiver prospect in the 247Sports recruiting rankings. The talented playmaker recorded 92 receptions for 1,423 yards and 19 touchdowns during the 2023 season.

The good news is that McCutcheon will be taking a multi-day visit to Tallahassee this spring, which should help the Seminoles in being able to obtain his services. Listed at 6'0" and 175 pounds, I could envision the four-star prospect in the slot as well as being utilized on the outside from time to time.

Overall, it seems as though wide receivers coach Ron Dugans is continuing to expand his recruiting board at the position. This allows him to have options if prospects announce their intentions to go elsewhere. It could certainly be a great wide receiver class for the Seminoles in the 2025 cycle.
