Florida State football fans have been patiently waiting for some good recruiting news as their last recruit to commit to the program was when four-star defensive end Javion Hilson de-committed from Alabama and flipped to the Seminoles on January 16th.
The Seminoles currently sit as the fifteenth-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. However, the coaching staff has some work to be done. As I alluded to in a previous article, Class of 2025 five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III have both received crystal ball predictions recently in favor of Ohio State.
As a result, it could mean that the Seminoles will start to expand their options at the position. One name to monitor through this process is four-star Koby Howard from Chaminade-Madonna Prep. According to a report from On3's Chad Simmons, the talented wide receiver will be announcing his commitment on March 31st.
Howard will be deciding between eight schools: Florida State, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, LSU, and Missouri. The Chaminade-Madonna Prep standout has visited Tallahassee the most out of all of the contenders.
He has even gone a step forward to let a variety of media members know after his exit interview that the Seminoles were his top school. The fact that Florida State was the first team to offer him has a close place to his heart. The 5'11" playmaker can take it the distance in the open field.
Howard has an official visit scheduled with the arch-rival Florida Gators scheduled for the end of May. While he has a commitment scheduled for March 31st, does that mean that he will still take the visit (if he does not choose the Gators)?
If Florida State finds a way to acquire Howard, it would give four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. a dependable option to throw to at the wide receiver position.
