4-star RB target Byron Louis will be visiting Florida State in the near future
Florida State football has the 18th-best recruiting class in the 2025 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles are far from finished with acquiring highly-touted prospects in the cycle.
Florida State has done a tremendous job with being able to establish the running game. The offensive scheme revolves around the ability to run the football efficiently. However, the Seminoles are having to replace the likes of Trey Benson, who has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Benson had 1,800+ rushing yards and 23 touchdowns during his two-year playing career with the Seminoles. Running backs David Johnson has showcased his recruiting prowess by obtaining four-star prospects Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy in the 2024 recruiting class.
While Davis and Danzy are talented options, Florida State needs to continue acquiring talent to build the future foundation of the program. The Seminoles have not picked up a running back prospect during this 2025 recruiting cycle.
One prospect to monitor is four-star Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida. Fans understand the connections that are in place with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. being the former head football coach at American Heritage High School.
Louis came to Tallahassee for a Junior Day event on January 20th. We at ChopChat have been informed by the four-star prospect that he will be back at Florida State on March 23rd.
This would be a great pickup for the program. During the 2023 season, Louis recorded 1,224 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. Other prospects to monitor would be four-star Akylin Dear, four-star Ousmane Kromah, and four-star Alvin Henderson.
The Seminoles will be doing their Legacy Weekend event on the 23rd where multiple highly-touted prospects will be making their way to Tallahassee. This could be an opportunity where those prospects have an opportunity to see former players return to campus.
