4-star OL target Dontrell Glover includes Noles in top schools list
Florida State has already set itself up nicely in the offensive line room for the future foundation of its program with five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Thomas has been committed to the Seminoles since December. This does not mean that offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is finished with constructing his position group. There is still big names out there on the recruiting trail.
One name to monitor is Class of 2025 four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. The talented prospect was originally pledged to the Alabama Crimson Tide, but he decided to de-commit when legendary head football coach Nick Saban shockingly announced his retirement.
Since that moment in time, Glover has named Florida State as the top school in his recruitment. On Monday afternoon, the Georgia native announced his top nine schools list which includes teams such as Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Auburn, Miami, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
As mentioned before, the Seminoles were late to offer the talented four-star offensive lineman on February 3rd during his Junior Day visit in Tallahassee. However, I guess it is better late than never as the Seminoles look to add at least three offensive linemen to their recruiting class.
Florida State will have to replace the likes of Maurice Smith, Darius Washington, Robert Scott Jr., Jeremiah Byers, Richie Leonard IV, and Keiondre Jones on their current roster. That is a ton of quality collegiate experience that the Seminoles will lose.
Overall, it won't just be the Seminoles acquiring talent via the recruiting trail. It will also have to be a mix of experienced veterans via the transfer portal. This will be a pivotal 2024/2025 offseason for Atkins as he looks to have his offensive line group as one of the best in all of college football.
