4-star LB target Tavion Wallace includes FSU in top five schools list
Florida State football's recruiting class for the 2025 cycle has fallen below the normal standard for the proud program. The fan base wants to see a top-ten recruiting class.
However, individuals have to realize that this coaching staff utilizes the transfer portal better than anyone else in the country. The Seminoles have not secured a pledge since January when four-star defensive end Javion Hilson de-committed from Alabama and flipped to Florida State.
Three months of a break seems like an eternity in recruiting. There were thoughts that the program could take advantage of after its spring showcase. However, that has not been the case.
While I know people that want to say the sky is falling because they are not grabbing commitments, it is worth mentioning that we are still roughly seven and half months away from the Early Signing Period in December.
The recruiting target board will rapidly change due to high schooler's decisions being all over the place. However, there are some high-priority recruits that Florida State has been on such as four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace from Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia.
The Seminoles already have a linebacker committed into their fold in four-star Ethan Pritchard from Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. However, it would be wise that Florida State continues to acquire prospects at the position with veteran DJ Lundy graduating after this season.
Wallace recently dropped his top five schools list which includes teams such as Florida State, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and Arkansas. That is some stiff competition for the Seminoles. However, the coaching staff seems determined to acquire the Georgia native.
Wallace is considered the third-best linebacker prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He already has a crystal prediction in favor of the Seminoles and he has an official visit scheduled in Tallahassee for the weekend of June 14th.
Florida State's coaching staff needs to continue to push for his recruitment and they cannot afford to let the home-state Georgia Bulldogs or arch-rival Florida Gators get heavily involved.
