4-star DE Javion Hilson awarded MVP honors at Rivals Camp Series in Miami
Florida State has one defensive end prospect committed to their 2025 recruiting cycle in four-star Javion Hilson from Cocoa, Florida. Hilson was once an Alabama Crimson Tide commit. After legendary head football coach Nick Saban shockingly retired, the talented defender de-committed from the program in January and flipped his pledge to the Seminoles.
The coaching staff knew what they were getting in Hilson as he recorded 97 total tackles (27 for loss) and 14 sacks during the 2023 season. The former Alabama commit is currently regarded as the 32nd-best prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
With that being said, the Seminoles still want to add more pass rushers to their defense. The defensive end position has the opportunity to change the outcome of a game because they can generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Even with Hilson being such a talented option, there are several schools involved in trying to flip his services once again. Ironically, one team that remains in contention is the Alabama Crimson Tide.
We hope that Florida State does not get its own taste of its medicine where former five-star tight end Landen Thomas committed to Florida State then de-committed from the program to pledge to Georgia and then decided to flip back to the Seminoles once again before Signing Day.
Hilson has dominated camp events. On Sunday, the talented defender was awarded with MVP honors at the Rival Camp Series in Miami, Florida.
Fans understand how important it is to secure pass rushers. Unfortunately, we have witnessed too many talented prospects at the position sign with other schools on Signing Day. However, it is great to see that Hilson is committed to Florida State. Defensive ends coach John Papuchis will have to do his best to put his recruiting hat on for the Cocoa High School standout.
