Florida State football only had one official visitor this weekend on campus in Class of 2025 four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, South Carolina.

Konanbanny was offered by the Seminoles back on May 10, 2023. The talented defensive back released a top ten schools list on January 1st which included teams such as Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, North Carolina, and USC.

It is also difficult to forecast when a team has an early official visit with a recruit. Recruiting within the college football landscape is seen as "ever-changing" where things are so fluent. For what it is worth, Konanbanny finished his official visit with the Seminoles on Sunday afternoon.

After his visit, he met with a variety of media reporters and stated that Florida State was the top school in his recruitment after the trip. Konanbanny did have the opportunity to FaceTime with former defensive back Jalen Ramsey during his official visit, which I know it had to make him feel special.

Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has certainly made his presence known in the recruiting trail with the Seminoles. During the 2024 recruiting cycle, he secured four prospects in Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III.

While Florida State has not obtained any defensive backs within the 2025 cycle, it is a matter of time before the Seminoles get hot on the recruiting trail. In addition to Konanbanny, I think that four-star cornerback/safety Gregory Xavier Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida is a recruit that Florida State wants in their recruiting class.

Overall, I think Konanbanny is a recruit who has a ton of potential that the coaching staff can mold into something special. I am excited to see how the defensive back goes into his future official visits with North Carolina, Penn State, and Tennessee with the Seminoles being the discussed "leader".
