4-star CB target Gregory Xavier Thomas includes FSU in top ten schools list

Florida State has not secured a defensive back in their 2025 recruiting class yet. Fans understand how well defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has recruited while he has been with the Seminoles.

During the last recruiting cycle, he was able to bring in Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III. While he has not obtain any prospects at his position this cycle, there are a plethora of options at his disposal.

As I alluded to in a previous article, Class of 2025 four-star cornerback Gregory Xavier Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation (FL) was an option to keep an eye on. Yesterday, he posted on Twitter (X) account that he had an announcement to make.

The talented defensive back has four crystal ball predictions in favor of the Seminoles. On top of that, he has visited Tallahassee numerous times for unofficial visits. It also helps that Patrick Surtain Sr. was previously the head football coach at American Heritage High School, so his connections are well documented.

While there were some rumblings as to it being a potential commitment given the amount of crystal ball predictions that Thomas had in favor of Florida State, it turns out that the announcement was a top schools list.

On Tuesday afternoon, the American Heritage High School standout announced that his top ten schools list featured Florida State, Texas A&M, Colorado, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Penn State, Miami, Tennessee, and LSU.

I believe that this recruitment is the Seminoles to lose given how many times he has visited campus as well as his relationship with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. This would be a massive acquisition for Florida State to be able to get an athletic defensive back who is a top-150 prospect in the entire country.
