Florida State's running back position group was thought to be littered with talent and depth in the preseason. However, that thought process has come back to bite the coaching staff as the unit has struggled with consistency, injuries, and production.

The coaching staff acquired pieces such as Alabama's Roydell Williams and Indiana's Jaylin Lucas this offseason. However, Lucas has been ruled out for the entire 2024 campaign after suffering a season-ending injury versus Boston College and Williams was announced by Mike Norvell that he will be out for an extended period with an injury.

As a result, the coaching staff decided to utilize a duo of Lawrance Toafili and Kameron Davis. The former four-star prospect in Davis has been a bowling ball with showing physicality in the running game.

During the 2024 season, he has accumulated 16 carries for 49 yards. While he has not scored a touchdown, I think he will get better with more experience. I am so excited to see Davis continue to develop his skill set.
