LB ZAYDRIUS RAINEY-SALE

Do you remember how I said that recruiting has plenty of ebbs and flows that come with it? Well, the recruitment of four-star linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale from Spanaway, Washington is a perfect example of that.

Much like Johnson Jr., who was previously mentioned, Rainey-Sale had a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Florida State Seminoles. He had made an unofficial visit down to Tallahassee. However, the talented linebacker decided to commit to the home-state Washington Huskies.

It was disappointing to see the Seminoles grab so much momentum just for the defender to commit to another program. However, former Washington head football coach Kalen DeBoer decided to take the head football coaching job with the Alabama Crimson Tide, which forced Rainey-Sale to de-commit from the Huskies and re-open his recruitment.

The Seminoles have a linebacker prospect committed to the program in four-star Ethan Pritchard. However, the coaching staff should prioritize grabbing at least two more at the position this cycle since veteran DJ Lundy will exceed his eligibility after the 2024 season.

Rainey-Sale will be officially visiting Florida State on the weekend of June 14. This could be a perfect opportunity for the coaching staff to get a talented linebacker.
