3 players to be excited about for the Noles with 15 weeks before season opener
CB AZAREYE'H THOMAS
One of the more underrated moves during the last offseason was the fact that Florida State brought in assistant coach Patrick Surtain Sr. We have already seen this pay dividends on the recruiting trail due to his connections with being a former head football coach at American Heritage High School.
However, some individuals forget how the defensive backs played well during the 2023 season (they can always play better). The program is now having to replace the likes of cornerbacks Jarrian Jones and Renardo Green as well as safety Akeem Dent. All three have moved on to the NFL.
This is now an opportunity for junior cornerback Azareye'h Thomas to become a household name. The Niceville, Florida native was already a great piece in the secondary last season where he recorded 29 total tackles (4.5 for loss) and ten pass breakups.
With him switching to the number eight jersey number, former defensive backs such as Jalen Ramsey, Renardo Green, and Stanford Samuels Jr. (secondary players who wore the jersey number) will most certainly be proud of his accomplishments that are coming in 2024.
