WR MALIK BENSON

Florida State is working hard to replace the likes of big-bodied playmakers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, who went to the NFL. Both wide receivers provided a safety blanket for former quarterback Jordan Travis. He would often rely on Wilson and Coleman if it was a critical third down and they had to have it.

However, the Seminoles must find effective weapons to succeed in the offense. As I mentioned, they are already breaking in a new quarterback (DJ Uiagalelei) so it is an uphill battle before we even get started.

Florida State added two transfer wide receivers this offseason in Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown. Benson is expected to be the number-one option as he has been the most consistent with coming down with catches that Uiagalelei needs to keep the drive alive.

I realize it is a lot of pressure on Benson who only had 162 yards and one touchdown during the 2023 season with the Seminoles. However, if Florida State wants to be successful in 2024, it needs Benson to step up hugely.
