WR HYKEEM WILLIAMS

Speaking of wide receivers on the team, second-year contributor Hykeem Williams is one player that I cannot ignore. During the Tour of Duty workouts, he looks noticeably faster and stronger. It's crazy how a year of growth and development can do for a young player.

Williams struggled with consistency last offseason where he struggled to acclimate to the collegiate game. There were even media members who attended practice last year who suggested that fellow true freshman Vandrevius Jacobs was the one to watch for and barely brought up Williams.

Being a former five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle, Williams had expectations that were brought upon him (for good reason). Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans had a talented piece to work with.

The Stranahan High School only recorded five receptions for 80 yards last season due to being hampered by a lower-body injury. However, it looks like Williams has got his body right for the upcoming season and is ready to make a difference.

While I did allude in a previous article that veteran Malik Benson will likely be a number one option, I don't think that it is too far-fetched to believe that Williams could push for that title.
