3 committed football prospects are visiting the Noles' campus this weekend
Florida State football's recruiting efforts have been noticeable in recent weeks. The Seminoles' coaching staff has continued to add talented pieces to the future foundation of the program.
We already discussed in a recent article that five-star offensive lineman commit Solomon Thomas visited Florida State on Friday for its fall camp practice. The Seminoles will not be conducting a practice on Saturday, but that does not mean that recruits will not show up to campus.
The dead period for recruiting is finally over and we are now in the quiet period where prospects can come on campus for a visit. This is an opportunity for Florida State to take advantage of the recruiting trail and bypass their arch-rivals Miami and Florida.
It is great to have the coaching staff recruiting on behalf of Florida State, but it is even better when commitments to the program are making their pitches to prospects for them to come to Tallahassee. It makes it feel very relatable for recruits to hear it from people their age.
On Saturday, commitments such as five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel (2026), four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., and four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley made their way to campus.
For starters, Smigiel is a California native whom the Seminoles were able to get a pledge from. His 6'4" frame and ability to stand in the pocket and deliver an accurate pass stands out about him. While he is a 2026 prospect, quarterbacks are very popular amongst recruits.
As for Jones Jr., he has announced that he was shutting down his recruitment after the arch-rival Florida Gators made a push. The Mandarin High School standout has been committed to the Seminoles since April 2023 and has expressed his love for the coaching staff and the family atmosphere.
Lastly, Wiley was a shocking prospect who picked Florida State over the home-state Georgia Bulldogs. Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans seems to be cooking with hot grease on the recruiting trail. This could be a wonderful opportunity for all three recruits to promote how scary the offense could be in the future.
