The College Football 25 video game is right around the corner for its July 19th official release date (July 16th for early access). The college football community has been starving for its release since the video game series was discontinued after NCAA Football 14.

However, the general population is happy once again as college football is now just six weeks away and now we have a video game to take our favorite teams to the promised land.

Florida State football was wildly successful during the 2023 season where they accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship. However, the Seminoles' fan base was left with a bitter taste in its mouth in December as the College Football Playoff committee excluded them from an opportunity to win a national championship.

Nonetheless, head football coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff decided to add several newcomers this offseason to counteract what they were losing.

We already discussed defensive end Patrick Payton having a 90 overall rating, cornerback Azareye'h Thomas being 89 overall, cornerback Fentrell Cypress II being 88 overall, and cornerback Omarion Cooper being 82 overall.

However, what about some of the other players on the Seminoles' roster? Well, 247Sports' Josh Pate was able to get a sneak peek of Florida State in College Football 25 where he released some of their overall ratings in the video below.

It excites me right off the bat to see Chief Osceola and Renegade planting the spear at midfield (one of the best traditions in all of college football). However, Pate shares some new interesting overall ratings from the Seminoles' roster.

QB DJ Uiagalelei: 86 OVR

WR Malik Benson: 85 OVR

OL: Five players at 83 OVR or higher

S Shyheim Brown: 89 OVR

THOUGHTS

I think that is a fair assessment to put Uiagalelei. He has had an up-and-down collegiate career thus far after stints with Clemson and Oregon State. His accuracy is much to be desired at times. Benson is fairly rated as the top receiver on the team. After a lackluster season with the Crimson Tide, I think 85 overall is justifiable given that he hasn't proven anything yet.

As I alluded to before, I think this is one of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins' best offensive line position groups since arriving in Tallahassee. Players such as Darius Washington and Maurice Smith should help the rotation. As for Brown, this is his year to shine after Akeem Dent has moved on to the NFL. I have high hopes for him this season.
