Florida State will probably be the first to admit it never should have lost to Virginia last week. The loss to the Hokies gave the Seminoles their first loss of the season and a bad look, but now they are coming in with a chip on their shoulder.

Florida State was ready to host ESPN College Gameday with Miami coming to town, but after the loss to Virginia, the crew headed to Tuscaloosa for Vanderbilt vs. Alabama. Fans believed that the loss to Virginia was the very reason they didn't get the chance to host the big-time college football pre-show, but now it has been confirmed.

Pat McAfee confirms College Gameday was set to for the Florida State-Miami before loss

When previewing the big games happening today, McAfee was talking about the Miami and Florida State game and how it was set to be the biggest game this weekend, but then the Seminoles lost to Virginia.

McAfee plainly admitted that the loss threw the plans of College Gameday off and sent the crew to Tuscaloosa instead of Tallahassee.

It seems a little unfair for one loss to completely send Gameday away, as these are still two top teams in the country, and this is going to be a big game for both. The Florida Gators were a team with a loss when Gameday went to their matchup against Miami. There have been plenty of teams that have had one loss and still hosted College Gameday, and for the crew not to be in Tallahassee right now just seems like an absolutely missed opportunity.
