One FSU flip target at position of need excited about newest FSU commit

Could he join the mix as well?

FSU football coaches got some much-needed news with defensive end recruiting for the 2026 recruiting class when former Georgia Tech defensive end commit Chris Carbin announced his commitment to the Noles on Sunday afternoon.

It was the first defensive end commitment in the class at a huge position of need. Carbin is 6’4” and 240 pounds and closer to being physically ready to play than most high school players.

The news was well received by FSU commits, but one flip target seemed ecstatic that Carbin will call Tallahassee home for the foreseeable future:

That flip target is Syracuse defensive end commit Kamron Wilson. The South Florida product has long been a target of FSU, but decided to commit to the Syracuse Orange in March.

Syracuse has had a down year after losing their starting quarterback, and FSU has kept the pressure on. Wilson visited FSU for the Miami game and will take an official visit for the Virginia Tech game in mid-November. Wilson is more of a project with great upside at 6’5” and 210 pounds.

He has the frame that could develop into a terror off the edge. Wilson took official visits to USF, UCF, Nebraska, Mississippi State, and Syracuse this summer.

FSU needs pass rushers after missing on several top targets in this recruiting cycle, but a duo of Carbin and Wilson would be solid additions, and likely upgrades over a couple of targets who decided to go elsewhere.

The win over Wake Forest should help in this recruitment, and a win over Clemson next week would go a long way to making this flip a reality.
