College football is now one hundred days away. It will be here before you know it, but Florida State football fans are hoping that it gets much better than the last two seasons have been. The Seminoles have a combined 7-17 record in that timeframe.

It is a tough pill to swallow for fans who used to see former coaches Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher hoist a national championship trophy. Florida State saw massive success during the 2023 campaign, but the College Football Playoff committee snubbed them of the opportunity to compete for the most coveted prize.

Seminole fans thought Florida State would be a tremendous squad after beating Alabama 31-17 in the opener. It seemed like everything was clicking on all cylinders. However, the Seminoles went on to lose seven of their last nine games to end the year without even making a bowl game.

Duce Robinson and Mandrell Desir were included in On3's top 100 players

It wasn't all bad, as they had talented players on the team. On3 released their top 100 players in college football list, and two Florida State contributors were on there.

Wide receiver Duce Robinson was listed at No. 73, while defensive lineman Mandrell Desir was at No. 97. Robinson made his decision to come back to Florida State for his senior season, while Desir is trying to avoid the sophomore slump.

Head coach Mike Norvell will be in charge of calling the plays in 2026, so Robinson will likely be force-fed the football on 50-50 opportunities, slants, screens, and anything else to get the football in his hands. As for Desir, this will be another year for him to get more reps in defensive coordinator Tony White's 3-3-5 scheme.

Some Florida State players that were not included in the list that could make an impact this season are running back Ousmane Kromah, wide receiver Micahi Danzy, offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin, linebacker Chris Jones, cornerback Ja'Bril Rawls, and safety Ashlynd Barker.
