Florida State was listed as the 20th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles had a huge boost after hiring a new coaching staff.

The biggest concern that Seminole fans had about the previous coaching staff was that they did not seem to value recruiting as much. Individuals thought that they would much rather put a band-aid over it with exploring in the transfer portal.

Florida State had quality pieces added to the recruiting trail such as Kevin Wynn, LaJesse Harrold, and Mario Nash Jr. However, the Seminoles were not finished with constructing the recruiting class. Most prospects have enjoyed the ability to sign during the Early Signing Period.

I remember just a short time ago when the February Signing Period meant something. However, the trend is to get the prospect to sign earlier. With that being said, the Seminoles are not finished signing all of the recruits that they want just yet.

One name that was mentioned in a previous article was Class of 2025 four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown from Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. He came in for an official visit to Tallahassee today.

I did not think that he would commit to the university today, but Brown decided to make it official and pledge to Florida State.

Brown de-committed from the UCF Knights after former head football coach Gus Malzahn became the offensive coordinator at Florida State. I expected the offensive tackle to be interested after that transpired.

Brown is a 6'7" offensive tackle who has a nice length, but he needs to add more weight to his frame which is 270 pounds. I am not saying that he will be an immediate contributor, but he could be someone to monitor if strength and conditioning coach Josh Storms could get his body weight up.

Offensive line coach Herb Hand looks to be trying his best to construct a serviceable unit for the Seminoles for years to come.
