Florida State baseball is finally here. It is hard to believe that we are already here as the Seminoles take on the James Madison Dukes in Dick Howser Stadium. However, head coach Link Jarrett is trying to get Florida State its first-ever national championship.
The Super Regional series on the road last year to Oregon State was difficult to watch. This goes to show how important it is for the Seminoles to get the coveted home field advancement.
It is nothing like a weekend series in Dick Howser Stadium, especially when the Marching Chiefs are in attendance. It is maraculous what Link Jarrett has done with the program. He is considered one of the best in the country.
First baseman Myles Bailey crushes an opening homer in the first inning against James Madison
Florida State fans were ready to see some excitement in the stadium early on, with it being Friday night in Dick Howser Stadium. First baseman Myles Bailey starts it off with a bang (literally) as he crushes a 425-foot home run to rile the crowd up in the first inning.
Myles Bailey has grown man strength. He launches the first pitch he sees this season for a solo MOONBOMB and FSU is up 1-0 early

Maybe 0-0 fastball down the middle wasn’t the play.. https://t.co/OZWfOVIC3I pic.twitter.com/97c1BsJzQK
It was the first pitch that Bailey saw in the game. He was awarded the 2025 Freshman First-Team All-American. The Tallahassee native struck fear in opposing pitchers with his power swing. He ranked second in the ACC with 19 home runs (according to Seminoles.com).
The Seminoles will have to replace the leadership of infielder Alex Lodise and starting pitcherJamie Arnold, so the fan base will have to refresh themselves on the players of the team. However, Bailey will be a player that individuals will know quickly because he could and should be a first-round pick in the MLB Draft.
If Bailey could continue providing his elite power to this lineup, then Link Jarrett could accomplish something that the Seminoles have never been able to do in winning a championship.
