FSU baseball (40-14) took care of business with a 10-3 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the second game of the Tallahassee Regional.
Jamie Arnold was vintage in what's possibly his final appearance inside Doak Campbell Stadium. He had 13 K's, two walks, and allowed five hits in seven innings.
Myles Bailey continues his torrid pace, hitting a grand slam and walking three more times. Drew Faurot homered from both sides of the plate. The Noles scored 10 runs but probably should have scored 15+ after collecting 14 walks and nine hits. They left 13 runners on base.
However, they struck out 16 times, including four from Max Williams, though he redeemed himself with an RBI single in the top of the ninth.
FSU chased Mississippi State's ace, Pico Kohn, after only 3.2 innings.
Mississippi State fans had confidence going into the game, with one of the best offenses in the SEC:
However, Arnold took their hearts and made it seem like they had no fight, according to their fans:
Overall Thoughts
The way FSU won the game could have lasting effects for the Bulldogs if they get past Northeastern again in their elimination game at 11 a.m.

They had two relievers throw over 50 pitches Saturday night and would have to play FSU after the Northeastern game(same if Northeastern wins). They'll likely have to use the best pitcher available to start against Northeastern, which is another arm FSU wouldn't have to deal with.
Their bullpen will be taxed again on Sunday, and they will have to beat FSU twice at home (if they get past Northeastern again).
FSU has Wes Mendes and a relatively fresh bullpen ready to rock on Sunday and Joey Volini threw fewer than 50 pitches in Friday's game against Bethune-Cookman. The Noles are in the driver's seat to reach the Super Regionals and are one win away.
