Tramond Collins re-committed to the Florida Gators about a week ago, but Mike Norvell and the FSU staff apparently did enough in his recruitment to receive an official visit from the four-star wide receiver on June 12.
Collins was first committed to the Gators last June and backed away from that pledge in December. After that, the elite athlete from Cottondale, Florida began to take spring visits and attended at least one Junior Day event at FSU. He decided to make a second commitment to Florida on March 11.
FSU offered Collins nearly a year ago.
After a great conversation with coach @CoachT_HarrisJR I am blessed to receive an offer from the university of Florida state!!! #gonoles #AGTG✝️ @FSUFootball @On3Recruits @ChadSimmons_ @MohrRecruiting @ChrisObert3 pic.twitter.com/8wD9zP4aHL

Gators WR pledge Tramond Collins still has FSU visit on schedule
While I would understand if fans roll their eyes at this news, Collins' interest in FSU might be legitimate. He was on the unofficial visitor list for many Seminole home games last season and went to at least one of them, if not more. Collins has also scheduled visits to Georgia (May 15), Florida (May 29) and Auburn (June 5) before his scheduled trip to Tallahassee. Normally, having the final visit during a stretch is a favorable thing, but you can expect the Gators staff to try to close the deal after he visits Gainesville and convince him to cancel the rest of his trips.
Collins is definitely a player the FSU staff should want to put the full press on. Cottondale is about an hour west of Tallahassee, so he's basically a local prospect. Collins is also a long, versatile athlete. He is projected as a wide receiver, but I could easily see him playing on the defensive side of the ball in the secondary.
If there's one thing, FSU needs more of its twitchy, versatile athletes that can offer a lot of options. Truthfully, Collins' 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame is such that he could translate into a linebacker that offers plus-level coverage and athleticism sideline-to-sideline.
Norvell has got to make some statements in recruiting this season and stealing a prospect from the rival would be a sign that he means business.
