Mike Norvell issues stern warning to current players, show me or hit the portal

FSU head coach Mike Norvell seems to have a general idea of what went wrong with his program in 2024. It's something I've hinted at time and time again, and it played out on the field.

There was no accountability, or very little, and that starts with Mike Norvell. He allowed it, and now he's attempting to fix it. One of the best ways to do that is to change the coaching staff and start with new voices and actions to hold players accountable.

It also makes the accountability piece for Mike Norvell easier because he's starting with a clean slate about the expected standard. I've mentioned it before, but if you have kids, you know what I'm talking about.

Once you allow the accountability of a child completing their chores to slide, it becomes more difficult to enforce those rules because the consistency hasn't been there. They don't want to accept consequences because of it. However, if there is consistency, they already know what to expect when things don't get done.

In the clip below, Mike Norvell is trying to re-establish accountability by telling current players if they don't meet the standard, they will be told to leave the program. Some will or have been told already because he already knows they don't want to put in the work to meet the standard.

Some players have shown flashes, and he's giving them spring workouts to prove they want to be part of the solution to get things back on track. Mike Norvell addressed young players who may consider entering the portal after this season last week.

If we see a mass exodus of FSU players entering the portal between now and after spring practice? Remember this warning issued and know it's addition by subtraction no matter how talented you think that player is.
