FSU 2026 RECRUITING CLASS
Florida State football has elevated itself to the 10th-best recruiting cycle in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles have 21 prospects committed to the fold at this moment in time, and there is expected to be more added to that number.
Head football coach Mike Norvell was once considered someone who "only recruited transfers". However, that notion has seemed to go out the window as the high school talent is beginning to gravitate towards Tallahassee.
NORVELL HAS SOMETHING AGAINST AUBURN
I know that Norvell probably wants to embarrass head football coaches Billy Napier and Mario Cristobal because they are arch-rivals. However, it seems like he has something out to get Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze in the 2026 cycle.
The Seminoles' top three commits in four-star defensive lineman Earnest Rankins, four-star wide receiver Devin Carter, and four-star tight end Xavier Tiller were all heavily considering the Tigers before they ended up with the Seminoles. It should be noted that Florida State was able to grab four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux in the 2025 cycle on Early Signing Day last year, too.
I know that Florida State has struggled on the field in recent years, but Auburn hasn't had much luck either, as they have suffered five straight losing seasons. It sort of shocks me because I do believe that Freeze is a solid recruiter, but Norvell is getting the best of him.
Being able to lure three top-150 recruits away from an SEC program is a power move for Florida State and Norvell as they look to get back to national relevance again. Florida State doesn't look to be done in July as the fireworks have only begun for its recruiting efforts.
