This would be a solid pick-up for Florida State.

Florida State has had some misses throughout the last couple of years, but that is the nature of the beast when it comes to high school football recruiting. We have seen players that Florida State went after, such as Rueben Bain Jr., Wesley Bissainthe, Malachi Toney, and even Joshisa Trader, select Miami.

It didn't make the fan base feel very confident in the direction of the program since those were very talented prospects in South Florida. Former head football coach Jimbo Fisher made a living out of going into South Florida and getting whoever he wanted confidently.

However, now the Florida State coaching staff looks to be focused on other areas. Nonetheless, the Seminoles want to get back to their winning ways soon.

Florida State could be a frontrunner for Miami wide receiver Joshisa Trader

Florida State made headlines this offseason on offense, as they were able to keep the likes of wide receivers Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs. Even though they lost pieces like Lawayne McCoy and Elijah Moore.

However, it should be noted that Gus Malzahn's scheme is centered around the ability to run the football. They picked up a Texas running back transfer Quintrevion Wisner and still have Ousmane Kromah and Sam Singleton Jr. in the backfield.

Wide receiver help isn't exactly what they need. However, Miami wide receiver Joshisa Trader just announced that he would be entering the transfer portal.

Florida State has one of Trader's former high school teammates in true freshman signee Jasen Lopez, which could help with recruiting him to the Seminoles. The former four-star prospect was projected to go to Florida State at one point, but ended up in Coral Gables.

Overall, I could see this recruitment coming down to Florida State (if they want to stack the room with talent) and LSU (Lane Kiffin is trying to grab any and every wide receiver out of the portal). Trader is a talented young pass catcher who could be useful for a Power Four team.
